One electrician, fifteen-odd years of the same customers.
ROK Electrics Ltd is a small family-run business. David Moore started it in 2007 and still does the work himself, specialising in high-quality domestic electrical design and installation across Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire — which in practice means Haslemere and the villages and yards around it.
The jobs tend to be the ones where design matters as much as wiring: an EV charger positioned so the cable reaches without crossing the drive, a rewire planned around the extension the builder is still finishing, an indoor school lit so horses aren't dazzled, a garden scheme that looks like lighting rather than floodlighting. Decades of it means we can generally tell what's gone wrong before we get any tools out of the van.

We diagnose chargers, not just fit them
When we started there were three devices inside a charger; there are dozens now. We carry EV-charger-specific diagnostic tools, so a unit that has stopped working gets interrogated properly before anyone quotes you for a new one — including units we didn't install.

Equestrian · a proper speciality
Indoor schools, whole yards, horse washes
Haslemere is surrounded by equestrian facilities and there are horses in the family, so this stopped being an occasional job a long time ago. Waterproof down lights that survive a pressure wash, electric water heaters for horse washes, remote-access CCTV for the 2am check.

A house that reads properly after dark
Wall lights washing the render, the steps grazed from the riser, and the terrace deliberately left dimmer than the house. Fifteen years of garden schemes is mostly fifteen years of learning what to leave unlit.
Concealed LED in an oak frame
Strip run along the purlins so the light comes off the ceiling instead of out of it. This is first-fix work — decided before the plasterer arrives, not afterwards.
Pool barn, lit into the trusses
A timber-framed barn with an indoor pool in it. Uplighting the roof structure keeps the glare off the water and makes the frame the reason you look up.
Reaching the eaves without a second visit
A tracked platform on the drive of a tile-hung house. Having proper access — plus our own staircase tower and inspection cameras — is how awkward jobs stay one-visit jobs.

Garden lighting · since 2008
Fifteen years of one thing.
We've been sub-contracted to a garden lighting supplier since 2008 — an unusual amount of practice at a single discipline. Long enough to have worked through several generations of LED fittings, cable, transformers and app control, and to have learned that most of the skill is deciding what to leave dark. One scheme we completed with P C Landscapes Ltd went on to win its landscaper a BALI award.

A site visit, then a written estimate
For anything beyond a small repair we come and look first — free of charge on EV charger installations. You'll get options explained plainly and a clear written estimate up front, so there's no moving figure halfway through.

The work, and then the years afterwards
David does the work, tests it, certifies it and tidies up after himself — one customer noted he “even vacuumed up after he had finished”. After that you're on the list of people we'll prioritise when something goes wrong, which is most of why the diary looks the way it does.

We're based on Petworth Road in Haslemere, right where Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire meet — so a normal week runs from Godalming and Guildford down to Midhurst and Petworth and across to Liphook and Bordon. If you're not sure whether you're in range, ask.
