How we work

Things you can hold us to.

We'd rather make promises you can check than hang a row of logos in the footer. Everything below is either in our Companies House record, written on our own van, or in a review left by someone we did the work for.

01

The person who quotes is the person who turns up

There is no dispatcher, no rota and no subcontractor we met this morning. David quotes the job and David does the job — which is why every single review on our Google listing names him and not the company. “David has completed work for us over many years. He is an excellent electrician.”

02

A clear written estimate before anything starts

You get the scope and the figure in writing, with the options explained, before the first cable goes in. On EV charger installations the site visit and the estimate are free. In a customer's words: he “took time to understand what we wanted, discussed options, gave good advice, and provided a clear written estimate up front”.

03

Advice even when it costs us the job

“His experience based guidance definitely delivered a much better outcome for us than our original plan.” Sometimes the honest answer is that a unit can be repaired rather than replaced, or that the circuit you were told needed doing doesn't. We'd rather say so and keep the customer for the next fifteen years.

04

Registered with the NICEIC, paperwork on request

We're registered with the NICEIC as a domestic installer and approved contractor, which means our work is inspected annually. We don't publish a scheme number here because you can't verify one from a web page — ask, and we'll send our current certification and insurance over before you commit to anything.

05

We leave it cleaner than a building site

Chases filled, cable dressed, board labelled, and the floor vacuumed. One customer specifically wrote that we “even vacuumed up after he had finished”, which is a low bar that a surprising number of trades fail to clear. Another called the installation “very neat and tidy”.

06

No emergency service — and we'll say so

We don't offer a 24-hour call-out, and we're not going to imply we do. What we do is prioritise people we already work for. If we've done your house and something goes wrong, tell us and you go to the front of the queue.

07

Design first, wiring second

On extensions, rewires, yards and gardens we'd rather be involved before the walls close up. Socket positions, switching that makes sense in the dark, lighting that comes from the right place — all of it is cheap to decide at first fix and expensive to change afterwards.

08

A company you can look up today

ROK Electrics Ltd, company number 07967305, incorporated 28 February 2012, still active, sole director David Moore. The trade itself dates back to 2007. It takes thirty seconds on Companies House and we'd rather you did it.
